There are many family orientated entertainment venues, including pubs, RSL Clubs, Workers Clubs that offer excellent value for money in food, drink and entertainment. There are also high value restaurants and venues that cater for the more expensive tastes.
The Gold Coast also has some venues that offer other forms of Adult Entertainment, these areas especially at night time in Surfers Paradise can appear to be a little seedy but there is a strong police presence in these area and things rarely get out of hand.
Beach Culture
At all times when swimmimg or body surfing on Gold Coast beaches your must swim on Surf Lifesaver patrolled beaches and only between the red and yellow flags. Surf board and body/boogie boards must only be used in the designated areas outside the swimmimg or body surfing areas.
Nudism is not permitted on the beaches but topless women sunbaking and bathing has become more socially acceptable in recent times there is no specifc State legislation that prohibits being topless on beaches. But State laws relating to being a public nuisance could be used to move people on or to make them cover up if the need arose. Nevertheless, unwritten local etiquette is to keep a respectable distance from the topless bathers and sunbakers as the beaches are large and not crowded.
