The Gold Coast has so much to see and do with more than 40 km of the best beaches in the world and an awesome climate with more that 300 days of sunshine every year, an average summer temperature of 20 - 28C (68-83F) December till February and Winter temperatures of 11 - 21C (52 - 70F) June to August. It's easy to see that the climate helps make the Gold Coast a real hit with all the holiday makers.

Gold Coast city is 1,402 km² in size and is located in the south east corner of Queensland, Australia. It is the second most populated city in the Queensland and the seventh most populated city (sixth most populated metropolitan area) in the country. The Gold Coast extends from the most northern suburb of Beenleigh on the southern fringe of Logan City and south to Coolangatta / Rainbow Bay which is located on the New South Wales border.

Sun, sand and surf a beautiful climate and a distinctive high-rise skyline of apartments, resorts and hotels the Gold Coast is one of the most unique vacation destinations within Australia. Featuring the World's tallest residential tower is the Q1 and is located on the beachfront esplanade in Surfers Paradise. The Gold Coast offers something for everyone. Families can enjoy the safety of patrolled beaches, resort-styled facilities and all the different family entertainment outlets including the many theme parks that the Gold Coast plays host to. With hundreds of thousands of tourists that holiday on the Gold Coast many enjoy the restaurants, cafes, bars and a vibrant nightlife, while others come for the excellent surfing.

Getting to the Gold Coast is easy with multiple domestic flights flying in to the Gold Coast Coolangatta Airport each day and many International flights flying into Brisbane International Airport each day. Surfers Paradise is the capital of the Gold Coast. Surfers has become a shopper's and entertainment paradise, with a large selection of quality shopping outlets based around Cavill Avenue be sure to check out Circle on Cavill with a huge outside screen, ritzy bars and fashions galore, and then there's Orchid Avenue with nightclubs, restaurants and bars it's a party from one end to the other. Every Friday night the esplanade comes alive with the beachfront markets the ideal place to shop for arts and crafts.

Other popular suburbs on the Gold Coast include Broadbeach a true cosmopolitan hub and the home of the new Gold Coast Convention Centre. Burleigh Heads from the parks to the beach Burleigh is a blend of old world class with a modern flair. Then there's Coolangatta you will be in awe of the beauty of the beaches and surrounds of this popular Gold Coast suburb. Southport is the Gold Coast CBD heart, the suburb where business gets done in recent times we the region has come alive with the inclusion of the new Southport Central apartments. Just north of Southport you will find the Broadwater, an aquatic playground a hive of activities including jet boat rides, jet ski rides, parasailing, kite surfing, diving, boat cruises and multi million dollar boats and yachts.

Finally your trip to the Gold Coast would not be complete without visiting one of the many Gold Coast theme parks. With so many to choose from you will be entertained for weeks. Sea World located at Main Beach just a short drive from Surfers Paradise, while Dream World, Movie World and Wet 'n' Wild Water Park are further north located at Coomera towards Brisbane. For a more relaxing day out with the family take a visit to the David Fleay Wildlife Park or the Currumbin Sanctuary for the daily rainbow lorikeet feeding, where each day thousands of birds gather to be fed. A trip to the Gold Coast hinterland, Springbrook or Tamborine Mountain will also be rewarding with cool mountain air, stunning coastal views, waterfalls and bushwalks, what more could you ask for?
